​Project Nexus was birthed out of the belief that God is raising up a new type of leader.  A leader ready to courageously imagine what God's heart might be in an ever-changing world.

To see this belief take action, a new way of identifying, training and mobilising leaders needs to emerge.   

We need leaders that are committed to deep listening, mutual learning and innovative approaches, if we are to continue to see people's lives transformed by the love of God.

Project Nexus reads Isaiah 43:18-19 like this: “Forget the past- it’s getting in your way.  Your eyes are fixed on the past, and you can’t see what I am doing today.  Do you not know that I am the Lord your God, that I am always doing a new thing.  Do you not perceive it? 

Will you not follow me into it? Can you not imagine with me a path through the wilderness?"

Can you not believe that I can restore what you consider to be a wasteland?”
"We must have freedom while engaging with our inherited past, to question whether or not certain practices flow from human traditions (Mark 7:13-23) or from the revealed truth of God.  This means there is a “faith once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3), and there are new horizons and new expressions of that faith needed in every generation."

We believe that to prepare us for these new horizons and expressions, we must intentionally develop and support a new type of leader in the areas of innovation, faith and culture.

Partnership

2022 saw the birth of Project Nexus in partnership with Edwardstown Baptist Church (EBC) in Adelaide, South Australia.

A commitment was made to launch a new independent project to identify, equip and mobilise
a new type of hope-filled, cause driven leader. 

These leaders would be found throughout Australia and would be present within a variety of unique leadership contexts
- including the community sector, faith communities, non-profit organisations and business as mission.

Project Nexus and EBC are committed to an ongoing relationship, expressed through listening, mutual learning and storytelling.  This represents the first of many partnerships that Project Nexus will seek to build our opportunities grow.
