Descending the Mountain

In this post, Tory reflects on Janet Soskice’s Naming God and her insights into Moses’s encounter with Yahweh in Exodus 3. While deeply personal for Moses, this moment was also profoundly communal—God was reintroducing Himself to the people of Israel in response to their cries. Drawing on this, Tory explores how our encounters with God are not meant to be hoarded but shared, much like Moses descending the mountain with the Law. Just as the Parable of the Talents challenges us to steward what we’ve been given, our sacred experiences with God can become gifts that strengthen, encourage, and give life to our communities.

Finding Hope Through Gratitude
