2023: The Year of Limitless Possibilities

Michael Henderson
One thing cause-driven leaders share is the desire to see change in a community. The other thing is probably heartbreak.

There are times when we see an issue, describe a solution, and everyone says, “yes, let’s make that change. More common is we see an issue, describe a solution, and are met with statements and questions, like: “Why do you want to do that?” “That is not needed!” “Let’s do this instead. It’s easier.”

When this happens, the question is always, How do we keep going?

For the cause-driven leader, it is hard to let it go. They want to see a change for the better. Often, they aren't even sure what the result will be; they just know there are problems at that moment that need to be addressed. They carry a vision for a better community, one that is often beyond our understanding.

So, How do you keep going? Because it is hard to keep going when there is no change happening.

Perhaps you have carried a vision like this for years, and you are looking ahead to 2023 and wondering if you have the energy to give it another go.

The answer lies in the spiritual world. For me, that is my trust in Jesus. He provides me with enough wonder and open-mindedness to believe the impossible is possible. He gives me the humility to look for other solutions. He helps me see that one plus one can sometimes equal three. Provides me with a viewpoint that is limitless, infinite, and boundless. Gives me hope that this year can be different to last year, not because I am better or smarter or suddenly Michelangelo, but because Jesus is limitless and is always doing a new thing.

May 2023 be two things for you: a year of limitless possibilities for your community, and a time when you sense God has your back as you lead this change.

REMINDER - Applications close on the 3rd of February for the 2023 Nexus Scholarship Program.
