The image that has impacted my life recently is looking at the whole of a life broken into months. If I take the average female life span at 85 years, and put a dot for each month, you get this image

As a whole, it doesn’t look like much! Consequently, I don't make new year resolutions anymore. I make new month resolutions!
When I look at where the black dot is, it reminds me to ask myself, "What are you doing this month?" "Is it worthwhile?" "Don't waste it!"
That last question is vital. Support is like your body's heart muscle; is it absolutely necessary and essential. None of us know everything. Others see things we don't. Who do we have around us to help us be our best?
This is the purpose of our scholarship program in 2023. It is much more than courses. It is skills, accountability, coaching, courage and permission to give it your all. I can't think of a better way to make the most of your 12 dots in 2023! (But I would say that).
We can say this because one of the core commitments of Project Nexus is to support leaders to get things done. This is not a tagline. It is more than just skills. It is recognising that support on the journey of life is vital. There are so many ways we can support you, but especially through coaching. This is why coaching is such a big part of the scholarship program.

As a whole, it doesn’t look like much! Consequently, I don't make new year resolutions anymore. I make new month resolutions!
When I look at where the black dot is, it reminds me to ask myself, "What are you doing this month?" "Is it worthwhile?" "Don't waste it!"
It also reminds me of Mary Oliver's line, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
So, here are a series of questions I ask myself when I look at each of the 12 dots of 2023. It helps me to be month specific.
In 2022:
Where did I spend my time each month? What did I do in November?
What didn’t I get done this year? What didn't I get done in December?
In 2023:
What 5 things do I want to prioritise? Family? Big job project?
What can I put in place in January to achieve these priorities?
What do I need to change in January to give me energy to get these things done effectively?
What skills do I need to gain? Can I gain them in January? In February? When?
Who can I ask this week to support me in January?
That last question is vital. Support is like your body's heart muscle; is it absolutely necessary and essential. None of us know everything. Others see things we don't. Who do we have around us to help us be our best?
