So many are declaring at the moment, “Covid has forced us to change and we can’t go back”, “We must adapt to this cultural moment”, and “Innovate or die”. But, if “innovate or die” is the common declaration, why are so many choosing the second option? Sadly, creativity and innovation get killed off more often than it’s supported. Would people like to go back to what they had? Do people fear the new?
We believe this has more to do with a lack of innovation skills than it has to do with a fear of change. To innovate you need skills, and to foster innovation in an organisation, like a church, we must intentionally support and develop it amongst your leaders.
