One of the struggles of creating something new and innovative is that it is new. It is unfamiliar and messy to start with. This is not because it is necessarily complicated or mysterious. It can simply be because it is new and different, and that takes a moment to comprehend. For everyone.
This can put people off when they share their new idea. They get frustrated because no one is getting it. It can lead people to give up quickly.
However, the huge bonus in this struggle to understand is the clarification and refinement that comes with sharing your ideas with people who want to support you. Rarely does a mission idea or a new ministry just fall in our laps, already perfect. Most of the time it needs editing and refining and focusing. When this is done with others, with people who don’t understand but want to, with people who get your heart but don’t get the current actions you are taking, we have a group that can really develop the new innovative idea.
Innovative ideas develop faster in groups, especially when they all work together toward a common goal.
