I was talking with one of our team members, Michael Henderson, about the conversations he's been having with people interested in joining us for Incubate in Semester 1, 2025. The most common response he gets is, “It sounds amazing, I’m really keen. But, I’m just so busy, I have so much going on.”
We get it. We're all so caught up in our routines and responsibilities that finding the time to slow down and make room to journey with God and others for six months seems impossible.
In our hectic lives, slowing down and building margin often feels like a luxury we can’t afford. But I’ve come to realize that it’s not just necessary; it’s something we need to choose intentionally. This year, I’m making it a point to slow down and truly rest in God—resting in His promises, His faithfulness, His provision, and His timing.
So maybe it’s time to make room, and look around to see what God might have waiting for us if only we would just slow down. Think you can’t afford to slow down? Maybe you can’t afford not to.
This isn’t about taking a break and putting your feet up; it’s about being present, noticing, and nurturing the areas of your life and leadership where God wants to do a new thing.
If you need permission to make this choice, consider it given.
"I am undoubtedly one of those people that others look at and say: “You have so much going on.” I’m an activist. I want to change the world. But here’s the rub. How safe is it to change the world, if you’re not entirely sure what world God wants to see come into being? And if you’re not certain of your part in it?
